There is tons of geo videos on here but usually I set cam timing to oe specs (unless adjustable cam gear then I set to highest cranking compression) ignition timing between 8-14° will add power depending on the octane fuel you use

Mine jumped timing on a new gates timing belt spring was missing
The spring can definitely make the belt jump
